Update — Instant Photo Becomes Recreate Photo, Plus GPT Image 2.5

Instant Photo is now Recreate Photo, with a walkthrough for each mode and a clear split between your photo and the reference you are copying. GPT Image 2.5 arrives in the AI Editor and Magic Canvas, the 1980s photo trend gets its own page, and the gallery and profiles got a round of cleanup.

  • Recreate Photo

The new name for Instant Photo, with a walkthrough for every mode.

  • GPT Image 2.5

A newer image model in the AI Editor and Magic Canvas.

  • Profiles and Gallery

Training progress, expired-profile checks, and filters, likes and archive in the gallery.

What’s New

  • Recreate Photo — Instant Photo has a new name, a “How it works” walkthrough for each mode, and an Instructions box in Enhance.
  • Reference images shown separately — the reference you recreate from has its own labelled section in the viewer, Gallery, Dashboard and Credit History.
  • GPT Image 2.5 — now available in the AI Image Editor and Magic Canvas.
  • 1980s Flashback — a new page at /1980s-flashback for the 80s photo trend.
  • Personas are now Profiles — and gender is chosen on the pack finish page instead of during profile creation.
  • Training you can follow — a progress bar and status messages while a profile trains.
  • Expired profiles marked — an expired profile can no longer be used to generate, and its badge says so.
  • Gallery filters — a new filter panel, plus like, archive and delete on samples. Uploaded images can be rotated and archived, and uploaded videos show as video tiles.
  • Blur Background is free again — it runs in your browser: no credits, nothing added to history.
  • Templates open on Featured — and video templates bring their reference images with them.
  • Run a prompt from the library — “Run this prompt” opens the editor with the prompt already filled in.
  • Better uploads — click anywhere in the drop zone to pick a file, and scanned photos no longer arrive upside down.
  • A new pricing card — clearer plan cards on the pricing modal.

Update — Why We Partnered With Phota Labs

UpdatePlatform

Update — Why We Partnered With Phota Labs

Your AI photos only matter if the person in them is really you. That is why GoStudio partnered with Phota Labs, whose identity technology was built by two former Adobe AI researchers. We wrote up the whole story on the blog. We also tidied up the sidebar so it is easier to open and close.

What’s New

  • Our partnership with Phota Labs — read why we chose them, and what it means for how true to life your photos look.
  • A neater sidebar — the expand and collapse button is smaller, lines up with the Home row, and no longer gets in the way.

Update — Instant Photo in Four Modes, Easier Profiles and Multi-Photo Uploads

UpdateAI ToolsPlatform

Update — Instant Photo in Four Modes, Easier Profiles and Multi-Photo Uploads

Instant Photo now has four clear modes: Generate, Edit, Recreate and Enhance. Creating a profile is simpler, and the pricing you see only shows plans that actually cover what you are about to do. You can also upload several photos at once, or pick them from your recent generations and uploads.

  • Four modes

Generate, Edit, Recreate and Enhance, each in its own tab.

  • Simpler profiles

Create a profile from a popup, and see only the plans that cover it.

  • Many photos at once

Upload several, or pick from recent generations and your uploads.

What’s New

  • Instant Photo in four modes — Generate, Edit, Recreate and Enhance, each in its own tab.
  • Profiles, old and new — packs work whether you create a new profile or use one you already have. Existing profiles keep working exactly as before, and new profiles are trained with our newest technology.
  • Create a profile from anywhere — a popup lets you start a profile from the dashboard, with or without credits, and it opens again by itself when you come back from checkout.
  • Only the plans that fit — when you need more credits to train a profile or finish a generation, we show the plans that cover it, not smaller ones that would not be enough.
  • Upload several photos at once — pick as many photos as the model you are using supports, from your device, your recent generations or your uploads.
  • Filters that stick — filter and sort your generations, and your filters are saved in the page link, so they are still there when you come back or share it.

New Feature — Three New Video Tools and Ultra Plans

New FeatureAI ToolsPlatform

New Feature — Three New Video Tools and Ultra Plans

Three new video tools: make a clip sharper, change its shape, or make it longer. Two bigger one-time plans join the pricing page, and the Background Remover moved to a new home with the controls it was missing.

  • Video Upscaler

Make a clip sharper and larger.

  • Video Resizer and Extender

Change a clip’s shape, or make it longer.

  • Ultra plans

Ultra and Ultra Max one-time plans for bigger shoots.

What’s New

  • Video Upscaler, Video Resizer and AI Video Extender — new pages at /video-upscaler, /video-resizer and /ai-video-extender, with matching Upscale, Resize and Extend modes in the video studio. Each is priced by the size of the video you get back.
  • Ultra and Ultra Max — two new one-time plans, plus a savings badge on yearly plans.
  • Back where you started — after buying credits, you return to the page you bought from.
  • Background Remover at /ai-background-remover — with the photo controls it was missing, and your original photo carries over between the background tools.
  • Copy a prompt — from any generation card.
  • Credit history with results — each line shows the image it paid for.
  • A bigger prompt editor — more room to write in AI Image and AI Video.
  • No more flicker — the studio no longer flashes when you switch tools.

New Feature — GoStudio 3.0: Clearer Failures, Correct Billing, More Video

New FeaturePlatformAI Tools

New Feature — GoStudio 3.0: Clearer Failures, Correct Billing, More Video

The biggest release since the new studio. A generation that fails now says so — and says why, in words that match what actually went wrong. Risky prompts are stopped before they cost you anything. Billing was rebuilt so you can only ever hold one subscription, credits top up exactly once, and the pricing page stops you buying what you already own. On top of that: three new Seedance Reference to Video models, a working audio toggle, Recreate and Delete on your generations, and three new tool pages.

  • Nothing fails silently

Failures stay on screen with the real reason, risky prompts are blocked before credits are spent, and a flagged image can be retried on Seedream 5 Pro.

  • Billing that behaves

A new plan cancels the old one, credits top up exactly once, and the pricing page stops you buying a plan you already hold.

  • More video, more control

Three Seedance Reference to Video models, an audio toggle that works, and reference uploads that are actually saved.

What’s New

  • Failed generations stay put — a failed run now shows as Failed in your panel instead of quietly disappearing.
  • Error messages that match the error — a bad input image, a server problem and a timeout each read differently, so you know whether to re-upload, wait, or try again.
  • Prompt moderation before you pay — a risky or inappropriate prompt is blocked up front, so no credits are spent on a generation that was never going to run.
  • Retry on Seedream 5 Pro — a flagged or blocked image gets a Retry button that re-runs it on Seedream 5 Pro. It only appears where it can help — not on video, not on other failure types, and not if the run already used Seedream 5 Pro — and the retry replaces the image rather than leaving you with a duplicate.
  • Three new Reference to Video models — Seedance 2.5 Reference to Video, Seedance 2.0 Reference to Video and Seedance 2.0 Fast Reference to Video.
  • The audio toggle works — turning sound on or off on a video model such as Seedance now actually changes the output.
  • Reference uploads are kept — reference images uploaded for a video are now saved properly and stay attached to the generation.
  • Recreate — run any generation again with its original settings, without rebuilding the prompt.
  • Delete an image — remove a generation you do not want to keep.
  • One subscription at a time — starting a new plan cancels the old one, so you can never end up paying for two at once.
  • Credits added once — a successful payment tops up your balance exactly once; the duplicate top-up is gone.
  • Billing goes straight to your account — the billing page shows only your own payment account, and if you have just one you land directly on the payment portal.
  • The out-of-credits popup only when it is earned — “almost out of credits” now appears when a generation actually fails for credits, not every time you open the page.
  • No re-buying what you already have — the pricing page shows “Already subscribed” on your highest plan, and “Already on Yearly” if a yearly subscriber opens the Monthly option.
  • Higher plans first — the pricing page is ordered top tier down.
  • AI Video Watermark Remover, end to end — the full flow from the landing page at /video-watermark-remover into the editor.
  • Two more landing pages — the AI Video Background Remover at /video-background-remover and the Headshot Watermark Remover at /headshot-watermark-remover.
  • Gallery and mobile polish — the gallery viewer now behaves like the studio viewer, the mobile grid was rebuilt, and mobile template cards show their update state.

Most of what changed here is the kind of thing you only notice when it is broken — a generation that vanished, a message that told you nothing, a second charge you did not expect. That is exactly why it is a 3.0.

Trust & Safety — We Blocked a User. Here Is Why.

Trust & SafetyPlatform

Trust & Safety — We Blocked a User. Here Is Why.

Someone found a way around our NSFW checks and used GoStudio to generate sexual content. We found it, we closed the gap, and we permanently blocked the account. This is not the kind of update we enjoy writing. But if you trust us with your face, you deserve to know exactly what we do when someone abuses that trust.

  • We found it

A review surfaced generations that should never have made it past the NSFW filter.

  • We blocked the account

Permanently, the same day. Being a paying customer bought no leniency.

  • We closed the gap

The bypass was patched so the same route cannot be used again.

What’s New

  • What happened — a user found a gap in our NSFW checks and used it to generate sexual content on the platform.
  • The account is gone — permanently blocked. No warning, no appeal, no exception because it was a paying account. We had no choice, and we would make the same call again tomorrow.
  • The gap is closed — the path that was used to slip past the filters has been patched, and the checks were tightened at exactly the point that was exploited.
  • Tell us if you see it — if anything ever gets past us, write to support@gostudio.ai. A report about this takes priority over everything else in our queue.

GoStudio was built by one person in a small city in India who wanted anyone with a phone camera to have the same photos as someone with a studio budget. That is the whole reason this company exists. It was never built so that a person’s likeness could become something they never agreed to. “We say no to the wrong money” is one of the four things we say about how we build, and it is easy to write on an About page. It is harder at midnight, when the account you are about to shut down is one that pays us. We shut it down anyway. We will keep shutting them down. Your face is not a grey area to us, and it never will be.
